Granite Sealer consists of microscopic balls of silicone that attach themselves to the crevices inside the stone. Once they are attached to the stone, these balls become a permanent part of the stone and act as a shield, protecting your granite from any kind of liquid that may end up on your countertop. If you know anyone who is looking for a kitchen, bedroom or bathroom, recommend them to go to CCI and we'll pay you a recommendation fee of £200. Contact us as soon as you can - if your friend or acquaintance contacts us first you won't be eligible to receive the recommendation fee. You can find our contact details by going to our Contact page - we look forward to hearing from you. We will send your friend or acquaintances our full colour brochure and from then on it's up to them.

Does granite scratch easily? No. Granite is much more scratch-resistant than other
countertop surfaces. It is a very durable work surface and has proven itself over the centuries. The only things that can scratch granite are carbide, diamond or another
piece of granite. How are sinks installed in natural stone countertops? A cutout can be made in the stone to accommodate the type of sink you choose. Any sink that you purchase will have
instructions and a template for the cutout needed.

The countertop installer will take care of this during the installation process. How are seams made? Seams are less than 1/16" wide. During installation, a small bead of silicone epoxy is placed along the seam where two straight, smooth cuts join together. The epoxy is mixed with stone dust
along with a color pigment to match your stone. The pieces are drawn together and clamped to give you a perfectly flat and tight seam.

Are the seams very noticeable? Since stone is a natural material mined from the quarry in blocks-usually no more than 10 feet long, you may end up with seams. The visibility of seams will depend on the granularity, color, and pattern of the stone. Visibility of seams also depends on the size of the slabs and the particular counter top or island design you choose. For instance, a seam in a slab of granite that has a small, uniform grain will not be as apparent as in a stone with a larger, varied
grain. A seam in a dark color will be less apparent than one in a light color. A dramatic pattern will show more seams than a uniform pattern. We work very hard to minimize the number of seams and are very particular in matching the patterns of two pieces being joined so we minimize the variation. Most customers find that the beauty of natural stone far outweighs seam concern.
